Swimathon raises money for Katie Piper Foundation and other charities

Hundreds of pound have been raised for local charities thanks to a Swimathon organised by Anton Rotary Club in partnership with Andover Leisure Centre. The swimmers’ efforts brought in just under £900, which was shared between eight different charities with a local connection.


NCS students walk into the dragon’s den

Young people taking part in a national course to help them learn new skills felt the heat when they had to pitch their fundraising ideas in Andover’s very own version of The Dragon’s Den.

The 16 and 17-year-olds on the National Citizen Service (NCS) had to face a daunting panel, which included North West Hampshire MP and former cabinet minister, Sir George Young and Valley Leisure chief executive, Kevin Paterson.


Pirates show it’s all hands to deck at The Rapids

A new family of pirates has moved into The Rapids at Romsey to add extra fun and encourage everyone to stick to the rules. Captain Rapid and his family, Peggy, Jake and Banjo, have joined the team to share their ‘pirate code’ with customers as they prepare to enter Rapid Island.
